Set your waffle iron to medium-high heat so it gets hot enough for a crisp, golden finish.
Brush the surface with melted butter or use cooking spray. This helps prevent sticking and creates crispy edges.
Remove the croissant dough from the can and separate it into individual pieces. If the dough has perforated seams, gently press them together to form a solid piece.
Lightly sprinkle granulated sugar on both sides of the dough if you want a sweet, caramelized crust.
Put one piece of croissant dough in the center of the waffle iron.
Close the lid and cook for 3–5 minutes, or until the croffle turns golden brown and crispy. Avoid opening too early.
Use tongs or a spatula to carefully lift the croffle out of the waffle iron.
Allow the croffle to rest for 1–2 minutes. This helps it become even more crisp.
Dust with powdered sugar and serve warm with maple syrup or your favorite toppings.
